Story

The Nags are a barbarian charity rugby team who organise events to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The name came from a group of five rugby players who pulled a barge 30 miles between Birmingham and Worcester in 2012. It was on this challenge that they created The Nags Project to continually raise money for our charity through biannual charity rugby matches.

The Nags have also taken on other ventures like 'Walk a mile day' and The Nags Canoe Challenge where 34 amateur canoeists took on a 50 mile stretch from Bridgnorth to Tewkesbury down the dangerous River Severn.

To date the Nags are very close to £40k raised to Cancer Research UK and are aiming to pass the £50k milestone in 2018.

To do this they will be inviting 75 players to represent The Nags against Droitwich RFC on 19th May 2018. The target is to raise over £20k on the day (Badger's Promise) and thus raise even more for our beloved charity.

Our Facebook Group is called 'The Nags Charity Barbarians' and anyone can join, play, support, sponsor or help. Just join the group and follow from there. In 2019 a huge charity Ball is being discussed for further fundraising so watch this space!
