Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

Story

Thanks for visiting our Justgiving  page.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be blind or partially sighted?  No?  Neither had we until our mother developed AMD (Age related Macular Degeneration).

Imagine not being able to see a loved one’s face.  Imagine not being able to read.  Imagine not being able to see to do a jigsaw, watch TV or do your favourite hobby.

AMD isn’t curable so the best you can do is hope there is equipment available to help cope.  This is where RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) comes in.  They provide support by

- Campaigning on a range of issues from preventing sight loss through to better transport services for blind and partially sighted people
- Supporting others through a range of products and services
- Offering training, education and learning
- E
mployment and education services
- Promoting accessible services

FAMILY FUN DAY

Earlsmann Lighting is very aware of how important it is to see clearly and is holding an event to raise awareness of the work done by the RNIB.

Join us on 19th July at Missenden Abbey, from 1pm, for a fun afternoon where, for a donation to the cause, you can experience, in a safe environment, what AMD is like and why we ask for your support.

The challenge:
walk a short distance wearing special "simspecs" and see if you can tell who is standing in front of you.  Get it wrong and you're in for a surprise!

A Barbeque, bar and tea & coffee are available. Enjoy exploring 10 acres of beautiful grounds.
Other attractions include an evening disco, Karts for the kids and a bouncy castle

Missenden Abbey, London Rd, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire HP16 0BD
