Story
Hello Everyone!
Firstly thank you for taking the time to visit my page, I'm just going to jump straight in and tell you what I'm actually doing here......
My name is Ebere Anosike, and I'm a Medical Anthropology student at Durham University. My course entails the study and understanding of different cultures and societies around the world and in particular we study the distribution of medicine in the world over time. After completing y degree I would like to contribute my time by working in the health/education sector of developing world either through a career or research. I'm interested in the work of NGOs and World Organisations, and have been an active member of United Nations Association (Youth)- taking part in events and volunteering when I can.
Living in multicultural London, there has always been many opportunities for me to get involved with other cultures and their organisations. I have been working with 2 London Based African Charities for over 5 years now, and my involvement has varied from youth outreach to office based fundraising, at the time of my involvement the charities were dedicated to the development of a bore hole and the development of a maternity ward both in West Africa.
In August 2013, I will continue my interest and involvement for development by taking part in a charity expedition in Nepal for 5 weeks, with Durham University Charities Kommitee (DUCK) and for The Future for Nepal Charity.I will be living and working in a local Nepali community outside of Kathmandu, and I will be teaching the local children english and many other subjects! The program is designed to leave a long term impact on the community via education, and provide the local community with the tools they need to continue in this area of development.
I am fundraising via many different projects at the moment, some include: a theatre play that I am directing and producing- with the proceeds going to charity, bake sales, valentines love grams and more. The money I am raising will go directly to 'Fututre for Nepal' this is the £1300.
So I would greatly appreciate any support no matter how little, it all makes a difference, thanks again for visiting my page :)
