Bowel cancer is something nobody wants to talk about. It's the sort of thing where you get a bit of toilet weirdness but, you end up trying to tell yourself that "it's nothing" and "it'll be all right". The truth is you just don't want to have to face your GP and say there's something wrong with your poop. Because that's embarrassing and awkward. 

This year I'm joining Decembeard as part of their awareness campaign. BC needs to not be a taboo subject, and it needs to not be something that we're afraid to discuss. DON'T be afraid to go to your GP when something is wrong; they're a doctor because they want to help people, so let them do their jobs. If it all turns out to be nothing, great, now you can stop worrying - if it turns out you need medical intervention, then the earlier you get that done the quicker, easier, and more effective it will be.
