8 Mountains. 6 Weeks. 4 Countries. 1 Amazing Cause!

8 Mountains. 6 Weeks. 4 Countries. 1 Amazing Cause! · 22 December 2019
Hi there! It's me again. I am back and climbing more mountains than ever.
This time, I’m going on a six week long adventure climbing not one buuuuuttt 8 BIG MOUNTAINS! (Maybe more, who knows)
In October, 39 people suffocated to death inside a lorry in Essex. They were believed to be smuggled either as migrants or in human trafficking. This is not the first time something this tragic has happened and with the current political climate, it definitely won’t be the last. Blue Dragon Children's Foundation worked tirelessly with the families of these migrants during the time and they do some pretty great work with the kids here in Vietnam. I’m gonna be raising some money through my climbs to support them. If you can, please donate any amount of money you wish to. Every dollar counts. Really. And if you cannot, that’s okay too! Please consider sharing this page. That helps as well 🙂
The more I talk about the incident, the more I realise that so many people are completely unaware of it. For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, here’s a link to the story: https://bit.ly/2RWwf5N
As an expat, I know how easy it is to live in a bubble and be oblivious to the things happening around you. But now more than ever, we need to acknowledge things, no matter how unpleasant they are. More than that, we need to take actions. It's easy to feel helpless and deterred in the light of current situations but volunteering for and supporting local organisations is also a big help!
Here's the list of mountains I'm going to climb and the (tentative) dates:
1) Mt Batur, Indonesia- 25th December 2019
2) Mt Bromo, Indonesia- 1st January 2020
3) Mt Ijen, Indonesia- 2nd January 2020
4) Khao Chang Phueak, Thailand- 7th January 2020
5) Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia- 20-21st January 2020 (on my birthday, yay!)
6) Tai Mo Shan, Hong Kong- 26th January 2020
7) Lantau Peak, Hong Kong- 28th January 2020
8) Dragon's Back, Hong Kong- 30th January 2020
If you would like to join me for any of these hikes, please feel free to message me on Facebook or Instagram!
