Story

Anyone who knows me will know that the most exercise I do is walking from my car to work and back again!  However this year I decided to actually do something! Victoria has managed to convince me to join her in doing the Baker Hughes 10k run!

Our chosen charity is The PKD Charity (Polycystic Kidney Disease). They are the only charity in the UK dedicated to the concerns of people affected by Polycystic Kidney Disease - PKD - a range of inherited, incurable renal conditions.

PDK is the world’s most common inherited life-threateding condition, in which fluid-filled cysts develop in both kidneys. Between 1 in 800 and 1 in 1000 people worldwide suffer from PKD. Over half of those affected will have kidney failure by the time they are 60 years old. If someone has PKD, there is a 50% likelihood that the disease will pass to each child.

Training has begun and it is painful!! Please make it worth our pain and dig deep!

Thanks for your support

Elaine & Victoria
