Eleanor's Recovery Challenge

London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
In 2010 when I crossed the finish line of the London Marathon, I promised myself never again!!
Fast forward to 3rd October 2021 and I am hoping the exact same thought will cross my mind!!
For some insane reason, I have signed up once more; for the pain, the hard work, the gruelling training plan and the mental challenge of achieving the 26.2 miles, all whilst attempting to raise the £2,500 for the fantastic charity that is Caudwell Children.
There are two main reasons for attempting this endeavour once again; firstly Caudwell Children's charity is an amazing support to us and they truly believe in Conductive Education therapy. Imogen has benefitted so much from her Conductive Education sessions, both physically and mentally.
During the pandemic, her therapy team reacted and adapted their services to deliver continuously, in some shape or form, at a time when all other activities stopped. This was priceless.
Secondly, I want to prove to myself that I CAN do it!
March 2020 may have seen Covid 19 and the start of lockdown, but it also saw the end of my treatment for tonsil cancer. To be physically and mentally strong enough to cross that line once more, would be the ultimate prize in my recovery.
