This is a photo of Happylucky one our resident elephants at the Elephant Valley Project. If you have just visited or volunteered with us you might have shared a banana with her, and therefore you probably know that she is quite the personality knowing what she can and cannot get away with when she is working with her mahout, Yey. We call her happy lucky because before we started looking after her she was quite different, a medical basket case who was suffering from a number of different serious ailments and terrified of anything that moved. After a long recovery period she is healthy and relaxed and quite at home wandering around near her waterfall. To be honest she really has become ELIE's first success story at the Elephant Valley Project. Geenowl and Princess have followed suit since and we are much more confident for the future of the Elephant Valley Project.
However there are many other elephants in Mondulkiri that are in a situation where they should be at or at least visit our project so they can lift out of the harsh conditions that are present here in Mondulkiri
If you have found your way to this site then please help us further to contribute to the specialised enclosure we need to build at our Elephant RnR centre or make a small donation to help pay for the daily overhead that continues to eat our budget faster than Buffys' bannana addiction. So please donate some monies in order to help us in this effort. We have found that 'justgiving' is a great way to donate as 100% of the monies you donate do go straight to us through our sister charity Globalteer.
Thankyou from me and thankyou from the elephants
