BUPA Great North Run 2007 · 30 September 2007 ·

ECHO supports families affected by children’s heart conditions treated by Evelina London, Royal Brompton & Harefield & their networks of specialist local hospitals. ECHO offers practical & emotional support throughout their journey, welcoming them to a community of shared experience & understanding.

Story

Isabel, my sixth grandchild, was born with a serious heart defect. She was rushed to Guy's Hospital and underwent emergency surgery. That day and the next few were the worst days Mike and I can ever remember, but the help that Jessica and her family were given during that awful time was the work of ECHO the charity supporting families of heart-children treated now at the new Evelina Children's Hospital (which has latterly taken over as the children's hospital). Isabel is now four years old and the very picture of health and energy.

Echo's support is so worthwhile I want to help by power walking the 13-mile run in September on my old stamping ground.    My daughters Nikki and Jessica and cousin Derek are joining me, so please dig deep and sponsor me online.   Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ECHO at Guy's will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Thank you very much for your support.
