Thank you for visiting our Saharan Sole Sisters' Sponsorship page, and for supporting me - it means so much. This October, I am going to be trekking 84kms in 2 days in the Saharan heat. So why am I doing this?! Gabrielle will be 23 years old this year and over these many years I have watched her lose skills, including the ability to walk, and there has been nothing I can do about it, except to do everything I can to give her the best quality of life possible. What I can also do now is support the charity Reverse Rett, who are making huge strides in medical research, which one day will be able to reverse the symptoms of Rett Syndrome. I long for the day when Gabrielle can be involved in a drug trial, which will reverse her daily struggles and perhaps reverse her symptoms completely! I am a Mum who likes a challenge, and this is something I can do - put one foot in front of the other again and again for a distance of two marathons over 2 days!
