Story

My daughter, Ellie, will be 17 next month. She was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis (TS) as a 4 month old baby.

Ellie has complex health; epilepsy until the age of 3, learning disability, communication difficulties, tubers on brain, AML's on kidneys, facial rash and other medical issues.

Although Ellie has a challenging path to walk in life, she is an amazing person - very thoughtful and sensitive towards others, she likes to please people and is the kindest person I know. Ellie has lessons to teach us all.

One of her biggest achievements was learning to cycle a regular bike at the age of 9 - I cried with joy watching her! :)

As a family we enjoy cycling, however Ellie is so tall now that with her lovely long legs she is too fast for her wee brother (aged 5). Ellie raced ahead of us at the 10 mile family cycle at Pedal for Scotland in 2014, therefore we thought it would be a fantastic opportunity for her to cycle from Glasgow to Edinburgh (50 miles!) with her dad and raise money for the Tuberous Sclerosis Association (TSA).

This is a huge challenge for Ellie as to date the furthest she has cycled is around 15 miles.

Please help to support Ellie and raise important funds for the wonderful TSA (who provide support to families and continue to research and develop treatments for those affected by TS).

Thanks to everyone for reading this! :)
