PAPYRUS is the national charity for the prevention of young suicide. We run HOPELINE247 0800 068 4141 a freephone confidential helpline staffed by trained professionals who give advice, support & information to anyone who is feeling suicidal, or concerned that a young person they know may be at risk

Story

Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK.

Emily took her own life on the 22nd of February 2020 after a 9 year battle with depression. She loved and was loved by everyone who knew her, met her, or heard stories about her. Not a day goes by where we don't miss her and the way she would light up every room she entered and every life she touched.

She was very outspoken about her support for mental health charities - PAPYRUS in particular - as she could relate to the issues they campaigned for. PAPYRUS support young people struggling with suicidal thoughts as well as the people close to them who don't know what to do, they help to equip the community with suicide prevention skills, and aim to shape national social policy and make a significant contribution to the local and regional implementation of national suicide prevention strategies. They do all of this to help save young lives - it's too late for Emily, but it's not too late for others.
