I have been accepted onto the Tour 43 African Children’s Choir as a Volunteer Chaperone for 12 months. This news has brought me great excitement as I prepare myself for the journey and adventure ahead!
The African Children’s Choir aims to help “Africa’s most vulnerable children today, so they can help Africa tomorrow.” The choir empowers the children to develop educationally and help heal past traumas and suffering. The children work hard and perform a number of concerts each week. The money raised during the concerts supports the children’s education on their return to Africa.
I will be flying out in February! Just 6 weeks away! As a volunteer chaperone I will, provide care and safety for the children, supporting their emotional, educational and personal development as we tour through the USA, Canada and UK.
It has been almost 10 years since I was first introduced to the choir and now finally I am able to follow that dream and start the next chapter of my life.
I will be carrying out a few fundraising events in the next coming weeks, so, if you are unable to attend those but would still like to support my journey I would be hugely grateful! There will also be the opportunity to support me financially on a monthly basis (please let me know if you would like to discuss this).
I understand that it is a difficult time of year with Christmas just passing, however, please know that you are not only helping me with personal fundraising but also helping the choir and the future work with the children of Africa.Any money you are able to donate will go to my personal support fund, which will help pay for my travel and expenses while on tour, as well as giving me a small fortnightly allowance for any bits and bobs I may need!
