Story
Hello everyone!
AxiCom has been supporting Microloan on a pro bono basis for the past 3.5 years with media relations and content generation programme as well as some great initiatives. AxiCom has given me this amazing opportunity to be involved in a funding activity which will not only make a fantastic contribution to the charity but also give us some real insight into the work Microloan is doing. This is the one of the highest profile fundraising activities that the charity undertakes and involves a 9-day trip to Malawi, including a 4-day trek up the highest mountain in Southern Africa, Mount Mulanje. On 1st-9th May, I'm taking on the Mulanje Massif, also known as Mount Mulanje, with Microloan. But before I take off with my rucksack, I need to fundraise over £1000 with your help! All of the sponsorship money raised will go directly to the MicroLoan Foundation rather than being used to subsidise my travel expenses.
To provide you with more of a background on the charity, MicroLoan is a non-profit UK microfinance charity that provides small loans (average £60) to impoverished women in sub-Saharan Africa. By providing small loans and ongoing business training and support, MicroLoan empowers women in rural Malawi and Zambia to set up self-sustainable businesses. The profits from these businesses enable the women to work themselves and their families out of poverty. When the loans are repaid (and 99% of them are) MicroLoan recycles the money to provide new loans. Microloan's goal is to help over 500,000 women each year in Malawi and Zambia.

Many thanks in advance for your support,
