Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am walking the Aberdeen Kiltwalk on 1st June to raise money for Friends of ANCHOR.

I've just reached the 1 year mark after completing treatment for Hodgkins Lymphoma. Being diagnosed with cancer in my 20s was a shock, but I'm so grateful to have had the best support from family, friends and colleagues during this time, as well as from all of the amazing staff and volunteers on the ANCHOR unit at the hospital. I'm incredibly lucky that my treatment went well, but so many others are going through treatment for so many different types of cancer all the time.

That's why I've signed up for this monster walk, hoping I can give a little back and raise some money for Friends of ANCHOR who support so many through incredibly difficult times. I'm still working on building my fitness up after treatment, and anyone that knows me well will know this walk would be a bit of a challenge for me anyway, so please donate if you can and help motivate me to reach the finish line!

For every £1 raised my company bp will match any donations made up to £4000.

Every penny of your donation will go towards the charity's mission to support cancer and haematology patients in the north of Scotland. Since it was founded in 1997, the charity has funded millions to make that vision possible; investing in medical equipment, pioneering research and person-centered wellbeing that push the boundaries in how patients are diagnosed, treated and cared for.
