The London Walk 2023 · 10 March 2023 ·

The London Walk is a night walk through London to raise money for homeless charities. Starting and finishing at St Martins in-the-Fields Church with a variety of distances available for people. From a 10k to marathon.

Story

As many of my friends know,
Barons Court Project is a charity close to my heart. For about 20 years, I was a service user volunteer cook. Due to my circumstances, they have been a great support. Even though I haven't volunteered there for a couple of years, they have continued being a huge support for me.
Taking on this challenge is my way of giving something back and raising awareness for a wonderful and valuable project.
I will be doing The London Walk half marathon distance with team Barons Court Project!

Homelessness is increasing in London, recent statistics show its up 40% since 2010. Whilst the need is increasing services have been decreasing due to funding cuts. Leaving people vulnerable to extended periods of homelessness which has a detrimental impact on their physical and mental health. The London Homeless Collective brings charities together from pavement to policy. Collectively, the group shares ideas, experience, and opportunities, and work together to ensure that nobody is left behind.
On Friday 10th March the sector is coming together with one aim - to fight homelessness in our capital. Aiming to raise £250,000 to support much needed services over one fantastic night.
