At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

I will be running 13 miles/ 22km in just a few weeks time to raise money for Alzheimer's Society. This charity provides vital support and information for those with Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia, and for their families and carers.

The charity also undertakes important research that will help improve the quality of life for people with dementia by tackling questions related to the causes of dementia, investigating good practice in care and treatment, and pursuing a cure.

As many of you will know, dementia is something that has had a huge impact on me personally, with 2 of my grandparents suffering from Alzheimer's diease and vascular dementia. Working in the healthcare setting has also increased my passion to see a raise in awareness, education and support not only for those with dementia and their families, but also those caring for them in care homes, hospitals etc.
