Lands End to John o'Groats · 12 June 2015

The Space Centre provides a unique, versatile Multi Sensory Environment for children and adults with physical, learning and emotional difficulties. We offer 3 large sensory rooms where those with disabilities can safely develop skills and enjoy experiences not usually accessible to them.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 12th of June myself, Steven Willetts and Karl Hodgson will attempt to cycle the length of Great Britain. We will start at Lands End the extreme South-westward point of Great Britain and travel to John o’Groats the extreme northern point of mainland Scotland! This epic journey will see us travel roughly 900 miles across 3 countries on our bikes with no support vehicle, carrying everything we will need on our bikes and back.

This challenge is usually completed over 14 days with full support vehicle, we will be attempting it over 10 days averaging roughly 90 miles a day with no support. We will carry all we need with us as we ride.

From now until the June we will be out in all weather conditions training hard to prepare for this grueling task, we want to be prepared and will do whatever it takes to complete this journey.

We feel that taking on an extreme challenge will be the best way to raise money and awareness for our chosen charities. Each of us has chosen a charity to champion.

The Charity I have chosen to support is:

The Space Centre, Preston.

The Space Centre is unique. Established in 1993, it is the largest multi-sensory environment in the United Kingdom for people with special needs. Located in Preston, SPACE currently offers a large, soft-padded multi-sensory room, with specialist lighting and even a slide! At SPACE, clients can move around in safety and develop skills, in a calm and controlled atmosphere.
