Equation's goal is for everyone to have equal, healthy relationships, in a society free from domestic abuse, sexual violence and gender inequality. We deliver education to the whole community to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence, promote gender equality and healthy relationships.

Story

1 in 4 women will still experience domestic abuse in their lifetime, so Equation challenge the attitudes and behaviours that cause domestic abuse.

  • They work in primary and secondary schools to ensure our young people grow up understanding what abuse is, how to have healthy positive, equal relationships and know how to get help
  • Run campaigns such as "help a friend" across the city and county to help communities name abuse, that it is not OK and how to get help for themselves and others
  • Train front line professionals to get the response to domestic abuse right first time
  • Produce resources to help survivors become safe, to help organisations say "this is a safe place to talk about abuse", to help children and young people recover from their experiences.
  • Support male survivors of abuse to be safe and start to recover from their experiences
The work Equation does is vital to preventing domestic abuse and the harm it causes.
