Esmae Jane Wilder was born with a Congenital Heart Defect called Tetralogy Of Fallots. She had her first surgery at just under a week old in which she was fitted with a BT Shunt to bring extra oxygenated blood to the heart. She had her 2nd surgery "the full fix" on 22nd march this year. Surgery took place at St.Thomas'/Evelina Childrens Hospital London.

Whilst Esmae was in intensive care we asked the nurse how much all the equipment that Esmae was hooked up to actually cost. The nurse told us that for Esmae to take up a cot for the night with no nurses and no treatment it cost over £1000. Shocked????
