I love running marathons, and I do this to improve myself, but I also get amazing pleasure out of running to raise money for those less fortunate than ourselves. I am blessed to have my health and my friendships and family. Not everyone is so blessed, and it is our responsibility to help those in need.

I have chosen for the upcoming Berlin Marathon to raise money for the blind. I have long been inspired by the challenges the blind face and how they overcome them. Just close your eyes for just 5 minutes and try to operate your normal life....it is daunting! I have particularly been so inspired by the Erik Weihenmayer story, a blind man who has climbed Mt. Everest, the famed "7 summits", and run a 3:30 marathon! WOW!!!!!

I know all of us are inundated with requests for charitable giving. And in these tough times, it is not always easy to do. I certainly understand and respect this.
