I am a Community Learning Worker working with young people in Aberdeenshire, a mum and grandma who has decided to take on a swimming challenge and raise money for Childline Aberdeen as part of their 15 things for 15 years birthday celebrations. My challenge starts on the 1st September 2019.

This is part of their 15th anniversary appeal to recruit 150 additional volunteers over the next 3 years. Each volunteer costs £1,600 to recruit and train so they need to raise £80,000 each year to make this happen.

The channel crossing is approximately 22 miles and  I aim to swim this mileage in my local pool in Portlethen.  This is the equivalent of 1416 lengths of a 25m pool and I will be swimming this distance over 12weeks.

Anything you can give, no matter how much, would be hugely appreciated and will all go towards helping Childline Aberdeen  achieve their goal.
