UPDATE: 06/10/2014
Thank you for your support for our first Everesting attempt, which we undertook yesterday.
The saying goes..."you haven't failed until you quit trying".
We started at 4:30am and finished at 9:00pm – we rode up and down St. Kenelm's Pass 55 times, travelled 134 miles in distance and climbed 5842 metres high – which is as high as Kilimanjaro and over 2000 feet higher than Everest base camp. Even though what we did achieve was massive, unfortunately we didn’t make the whole height of Everest (this time), which was out aim.
We didn't stop because we couldn't ride any more; physically we were still going strong, however we forecast ahead and were due to simply run out of time. Our estimated time for finishing based on our speed throughout the day was around 4am and with both of us and our support team having to work the next day that wasn't a practical option. In addition to this, the weather had begun to change with high winds and rain on the way, which meant that we were concerned about safety as we got more tired.
As per the edict above...we will be repeating the attempt in the spring using the experience from this attempt to make sure we get there. We’re going to keep the sponsorship page open until then and make sure we do justice for everyone that has donated so far and hopefully get that total up even higher.
Finally a big thank you to those of you that came and rode some laps with us and also to those that visited during the day to cheer us on - it was all so apprecaited.
Thanks again for your support - we will be back in a few months to make you all proud. Watch this space.

On 5th October 2014 Jonathan & Adam Kitto will be ATTEMPTING to cycle the vertical height of Mt. Everest in one day to raise money for a great cause, Acorns Children's Hospice.
Cycling up and down St Kenelm's Pass in the Clent Hills we will attempt to ascend 8,848m (29,028ft) in one day. This will be around 86 times up and down in around 16 hours, covering over 200 miles.
As fathers ourselves we believe that a charity that devotes this level of care to children that really need it is at least deserving of one day of suffering by us to raise money to help their cause. So please donate and sponsor us and we'll promise not to stop until the challenge is complete or we cannot physically cycle another meter.
Thank you!
