Just before the Beijing Olympics I'm going to be ditching the heels and, over a 10 day period trekking a large chunk of the Great Wall of China with some of our greatest Olympians (if they can keep up!), fellow Atos Origin colleagues and the BBC

…And it's all for a great cause. The British Olympic Foundation. The BOF are committed to inspiring young people through Sport and Education through raising the profile and understanding of Olympic principles and ideals  to encourage participation in sport at all levels. With London hosting the 2012 Olympic Games promoting well-being and participation in sport is even more important .

I've set myself a pretty aggressive target, so any donation small or large would really help. If anyone could donate a stannah stair lift that would also be handy.

So what does the BOF do? It does great things! It sends Olympic athletes into schools to train and inspire youngsters of all ages, it supports schools promoting sports in a number of ways, it organises and runs the Olympic Youth camp which runs alongside the Olympics and helps foster cultural understanding and that Olympic spirit, it runs Enterprise days as part of KS4 curriculum to help teach commercial aspects of business using the excitement of the Olympics, it promotes the utilisation of women in sports management and it hosts the largest Olympic library in the UK.
