As many of you already know, my parents are originally from a small town called Harar in Ethiopia. Harar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and I have visited my extended family many times. 

During this summer I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to volunteer for a charity called Project Harar, working in their London office. Project Harar annually sends a surgical team to Ethiopia to undertake complex head and neck surgeries. While volunteering for Project Harar I was able to see the immense impact that such surgeries had on the lives of the patients; from the removal of large ameloblastomas to repairing more complex clefts.

I recently graduated from Dental School and have gained valuable skills. In February 2018, I will be traveling to Ethiopia with a team from Project Harar to help out with a complex head and neck surgeries. The invaluable administration team at Project Harar spend an immense amount of time planning these missions, to ensure the impact is maximised. 

The surgical staff have all volunteered their time, however, the team needs to buy equipment and medicines to make the surgeries a success. This is why I have set up this Just Giving page to raise some money to help the cause. Every little helps, no matter the size of the donation.
