I'm raising money for a fantastic charity- Cancer Research UK. My target is a realistic £150 but if I can raise more than that it would be great.

So here are the facts...

- Cancer is the #2 killer in developed countries and #1 in underdeveloped countries
- Experts worldwide agree that at least half of all cancers and cancer-related deaths are preventable. In 2012, two million deaths globally were attributed to cancer according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
- An estimated 5-10% of cancers are entirely hereditary. Most cancers spread through a combination of hereditary and environmental factors.
-  One in eight deaths in the world are due to cancer. Cancer causes more deaths that AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria combined.

So, for those who know me will know 'running' is not my forte so I have taken up the chance to participate in a White Collar Boxing match to raise money in order for the development of research around this life changing disease.

Everyone reading this has directly or indirectly been affected by cancer at some point. Personally, I've been fortunate enough to experience people close to me win the battle but I know how very different circumstances would be if the diagnosis at the right time and the treatment that was offered wasn't available.
