Story
Hello everybody,
Thank you for visiting my justgiving page.
On 12th October I will be running the Budapest Marathon. Looking at me, I may appear to have a marathon runner's physique, I am in fact quite lazy and unfit - think Haile Gebrselassie but with Johnny Vegas' diet. Originally I turned up to the marathon meeting thinking I would just fly out to Budapest to watch my friends run, whilst I enjoyed the delights of Budapest's nightlife; instead I'm now running a marathon! It is a huge challenge but one that I am really looking forward to. I have always wanted to run a marathon and have decided to do it now as the timing is just right. I am running as part of a team from my college at York, Derwent, and there are around 30 of us travelling out to Hungary.
I am running the marathon for the NSPCC. The deal with the NSPCC is that we fundraise the required £995, and they cover the cost of sending us out to Hungary and provide the space in the race (about £250). However I am covering my own costs (with a little help from Mummy and Daddy), so ALL the money I raise will go to the NSPCC and towards all the fanatstic work they do safeguarding children, and not for Felix to have a piss-up in Budapest (but it will be quite a party after the race!).
It sounds cliche, but I have been so very fortunate in life, and I feel it's time I do something to help others - that's why the NSPCC is the perfect charity for me to support. The NSPCC works to eradictae cruelty to children. They prioritise children who are most at risk from abuse and neglect and the money I raise will be spent on protecting children and ensuring their saftey. The NSPCC also spends money on raising awareness about child abuse and stopping potential cases of abuse from developing. They run workshops with children and talk about abuse in an easy way for children to understand, the money I raise could go towards running workshops for 83 children.
Any money that you do donate would be greatly appreciated!
Running partners are also welcomed. I only enjoy running with other people, and the possibilty of Crispin training with me is low (unless he's on a moped) so if you fancy going for a run let me know!
Thank you
Felix xxx
