Ironman Austria 2006 · 30 May 2006

St Rocco’s Hospice provides specialist care and support across Warrington, helping those who are coping with a life-limiting illness. It costs over £5 million each year to run the hospice – which means we need to raise over £12,000 each and every day just to keep running.

Story

Updated 19th July 2006

As you may already know I took part in the Ironman Austria on July 16th.

The race consisted of a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride, and finally a 26.2 mile run. My target time was 14 hours, but secretly hoping if all went well to sneak under 13 hours. It went really well and I finished in 11:53:07.

Swim 2.4 miles - 1:06:40

Bike 112 miles - 6:01:02

Run 26.2 miles - 4:22:36

Neil Harrison finished strongly in 14:13:33 with splits of 1:40:52 / 6:19:14 / 5:55:19

I have picked St Rocco's as my charity because they do such fantastic work for patients and their families.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Rocco's Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
