Right guys, so last year I had to pull out of this race for health reasons, so this year, fit as a fiddle once again I am doing not just one but TWO half marathons... in the space of about 2 weeks. Am I mad? Maybe. Am I prepared? Getting there! Am I excited? More like scared. Am I motivated? HELL YEAH!

I am so excited to finally be able to attempt to race a half marathon and I've been busily training for it.

This particular race also sees me raising money for the Breast Cancer Campaign who do amazing research work and who hopefully one day very soon will find a cure and a prevention for Breast Cancer.

Breast cancer has affected many people that I have known or still know and in particular it's a charity that is very close to my heart after we lost our wonderful Nanna to the disease in 1999 after a long and brave struggle with it.

We all miss her dearly and would have loved to have been able to cure her illness, or find it sooner, so we could have enjoyed many more years with her in our lives.

This isn't just for Nanna, it's for all of her family as we still miss her and it's for everyone I've known who has been affected in some way by Breast Cancer either directly themselves or through family. ...And it's for you... in the hope that your mother or sister or aunty or grandmother can avoid having to face it, or can get better if they are already facing it.
