==================
You have just read a generic spill from JustGiving.
Now for a little story...
17th Sept: decided to do this just for the hell of it.
29th Sept: it's too late to turn back now what with 18 backers...my ego is too big for that anyway... Anyhow, on a positive note, if one actually analyses the benefits of this event...
1) It's the 40th Anniversary of one of the most well known marathons in the world!! Would be a shame to pass this by.
2) It's virtual, no mandatory route (& yes I did consider doing 105 track laps).
3) 24-hour cut off time (no-brainer)....
Thank you Whittington Health Charity Funds (esp. Eddie) for making this possible! :)
Have you ever wondered where precious donations might end up?
I did lol...
The following is a non-exhaustive list of the 'little things' that The Whittington Health Charity Funds provide for just this year alone!
The Charity funds the care that the NHS cannot provide, paying for equipment, projects and support for both patients and staff.
2. COVID19 Tour Bus: Partnering with Vans for Bands to provide a tour bus with beds to give staff a break during covid wave one times.
3. Water Bottles: Providing water bottles for all staff – dehydration is a big issue for those wearing PPE.
4. Providing hand cream for staff to help with dry hands.
5. Delivering meals to staff provided by local restaurants in partnership with Meals for the NHS.
6. Patient Discharge Care packages: Providing packs of essentials for patients to take home when they leave hospital.
8. Installing easy to read clocks making it simpler for staff wearing PPE.
9. Cloth face masks: Buying 10,000 face masks from local companies for staff to use outside of work.
