The FOBATHON was completed on 16th June at 0900Hrs (local) with a total of 125 people taking part and completing a total of 2178 laps of the FOB or 1021 Miles within the 24hrs! In all conditions! Thank you to all the families and friends who have sponsored us but just in case you haven't this webpage is open until the 1st of August for donations. Anything you can give will be greatfully received.

The run is going well and we are now 12 hours into the run and have covered 700 miles collectively! Another 12 hours to go - thanks for all the support and please keep it comming!

FOB (Forward Operating Base) Inkerman is a British Army base in Helmand Province where members of B Company 2 Rifles, 40th Regiment Royal Artillery, The Royal Engineers and various attachments are based for their summer tour of Afghanistan.

While we were here we decided to run a sponsored event for Help For Heroes and as such we will be running a 24 hour FOBATHON to raise money for a cause close to the heart of every serving member of the armed forced and their families.

The race will be an endurance relay race around the FOB's 0.6 mile perimeter circuit lasting 24 hours with members of the FOB completing multiple laps. This will be conducted from start to finish in one continuous block running throughout the night and midday heat of 45 degrees Celsius.

We will update here once the run is complete with the photos of highs and lows.
