St Nicholas Hospice Care is a local charity based in West Suffolk and Thetford, serving our community since 1984. As a charity, we believe everyone matters in life and death, and we strive for something better for those facing dying, death and grief.

Story

As many of you will know, Bart, his family and I, lost someone irreplaceable in March of this year. Ruth Minter, Barts mother and my amazing mother in law to be.

She was an incredibly loving individual and her strength and courage throughout her battle with cancer was unbreakable. I have complete admiration for this super women, although she was the one unwell, she would constantly comfort and support everyone where she could. Making us laugh right until the end, never showing anger or bitterness, just unconditional love for her family and friends

At the end of Ruth’s life she went into the St. Nicholas Hospice, the care that was provided was just incredible. The staff were beyond brilliant and supported both Ruth and the family through this incredibly difficult time. The staff made Ruth comfortable and gave us a place where we could all be together.

Bart and I have decided to take part in the ‘Festive Forest Challenge - Half Marathon’ to raise money for this very special hospice. Festive attire TBC, suggestions are welcome! Elf outfit for Bart perhaps?

It takes place on the 07th December 2019, If you are able to help us with our goal then please please do.

Thank you so much.
