Asics Reading Half Marathon 2007 · 25 March 2007 ·
Hello,
On the 25th March 2007 we ran the Reading Half Marathon in order to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Our completed times for the run were:
Anne - 01:58:28
Dan - 02:08:52
Lorenc - 02:13:05
We did this because Lorenc's daughter, Fleur, suffers from Cystic Fibrosis (CF). CF is the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease. It affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system.
Average life expectancy is around 31 years and although improvements in treatments mean a baby born today could expect to live for longer, there is no cure. However, leading scientists believe they could be close to an effective treatment for CF through gene therapy. It costs the CF Trust £3 million each year to fund the gene therapy research. 90% of deaths of people with CF are as a result of lung damage. Effective gene therapy would stop lung damage.
We want to say a BIG Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cystic Fibrosis Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
