Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
In May of last year (2007), many people around the world lost a dear friend; David Streit left us, and has been sorely missed ever since. For those of us who had the pleasure to attend Bath University with him, and attend the trials and tribulations of economics along side him, we best remember him for his honesty, generousity and good humour. He was always willing to lend a hand to a friend, whether the problem be academic or social, and for this he was much appreciated by all. Since May, messages from friends from as far wide as Australia and America have flooded his facebook page, all stating the positive effect David had on their lives- a true indicator of his huge popularity in life, and just how badly he is missed in death.
This year, many of his friends, as well as those touched by the cause, have backed the idea of running in his memory, and together we are all going to run the Bath Half marathon. Some of the participants have never taken part in such an endurance test, but are willing to take to the task such is their devotion to the cause. David has raised several hundred pounds in the past for the Alzeimer's Society, thus we plan to carry on where he left off; this is the charity we are supporting in his memory. I shall add the names of comfirmed runners to the end of this message.
The event itself takes place on the 16th March 2008.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Alzheimer's Society will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
Please donate generously, and spread the word- David gave so much in life, and this is our way of saying thank you.
Many thanks for your support.
