Story

Hi everyone, last year I was part of a group that climbed Snowden with a Candy Tumble-Dryer to raise funds for a great lad called 'Tyler'. It was a great day and we raised a few quid for this brave little boy and his family.

This year a new challenge awaits, On the 16th June I intend to complete the Royal Windsor Triathlon and I thought it would be great if I could raise £500 for Mitochondrial Disease.

Mitochondrial Disease is a chronic, genetic disorder that can be inherited in a number of ways. Because there are many forms of mitochondrial disease and therefore Mitochondrial disease presents very differently from individual to individual.

When a person has Mitochondrial Disease the mitochondria in the cells are not producing enough energy. Sometimes they are not very efficient or they do not work at all. Depending on which Mitochondria are affected will depend on which organs are affected.

Activities like running, swimming, cycling or even simple ones like walking or breathing can be difficult or completely impossible if you are suffering with Mitochondrial Disease.

So I am training really hard to make sure I can go from Swimming to Cycling to Running without going to A&E in between. Please donate to this good cause and prevent me backing out of this huge challenge
