Pharmacist Support is an independent charity for pharmacists & their families, former pharmacists, pre-reg trainees and Mpharm students in need. Free & confidential support includes an information & enquiry service, financial assistance, wellbeing service, specialist advice & addiction support.

Story

On the 12th of April Day Lewis CEO Kirit Patel MBE is embarking on the journey of a lifetime: an epic road trip with three fellow pharmacists, Peter Catee, Manvir Patel and Hiten Patel,  from London to India, all in the name of charity.

Kirit Patel said:

"This trip has been on my wish list since my graduation. At that point I could not afford a trip of this magnitude. As the years have passed waiting for an opportunity, there have been many obstacles that have prevented me from seizing this moment.

We will be driving through at least seventeen countries including Kazakhstan, Romania, Russia, and China, to name a few.
Some factors are out of our control.

The recent effects of Ukraine’s current political stance mean that our original route is constantly being reviewed to find the safest way into Russia.

The safer option is to go via Turkey; the alternative route is to go north of Ukraine via Belarus. If we take this route it will increase our journey by 2 weeks!

We will be raising money for Pharmacist Support. This independent charity offers a range of free and confidential services for pharmacists and their families."
