Freddie's Sahara Trek · 6 March 2015
Hi, I'm Freddie, I am 10 years old and I love doing sports. When I'm not doing sports I like to help Guide Dogs. In 2011 and 2012 I ran the mini Great North Run and in 2013 I ran the mini Great South Run, I have also done a blind drive for Guide Dogs. I also help my local Guide Dog fund raising branch with collections and events such as fayres and collections.
With my mummy and daddy we have boarded a total of 10 GD in training and at the moment we are puppy walking our second Guide Dog puppy Kiki.
Guide Dogs help blind and partially sighted people and I love the thought that I can help a charity that changes peoples lives.
In March 2015 I am going to trek across the Sahara Desert and hopefully raise lots of money for Guide Dogs. We will be walking over 100km and it will take us 4 days of walking. At night we will be sleeping in tents, and everything we need for the trip will be carried by some camels with us.
Our trek has been planned with the help of Optical Express, who are our main sponsors. They have given us some great 'Freddie's Sahara Trek' clothing and sunglasses, and also paid the costs for my trek. Daddy has also had laser eye surgery from them - so that he can see where he is going! Please have a look at their website www.opticalexpress.co.uk
Please sponsor me to help my dream of raising lots of money come true. Did you know it costs £50,000 for a Guide Dog in its whole life, but only costs 50p for an owner to have a guide dog?
