Story
WE DID IT.
Even with a breakdown we completed it in 23 hours 35 mins.
Actual time is 21 hours if we calculate it using the Red Cross method, which is:
-> Set 10 hours driving time + Ben Nevis (4 hours 10 mins) + Scafell Pike (3 hours 30 mins) + Snowdon (3 hours 20 mins).
Update on Training. The walkers have climbed Snowdon, then Scafell Pike and Red Pike 2 weekends later during training. Preparation to complete the climbs in the 24 hours is going well. (See photos). Jim has also climbed Ben Nevis so a special well done goes to him.
However lets not underestimate the difference between 3 mountains in 3 weekends and 3 mountains in 24 hours. A special mention goes to Mark who could probably complete the 3 peaks twice in 24 hours. Mark and Jim are providing the benchmark on speed.
Matt has had the most blisters, but has thankfully sorted
this problem between Snowdon and the Lakes climbs. Slowest climber
award goes to Matt with the slowest descender going to Orrin.
This leaves Nick, the glue keeping the group together who can see both the leader and back marker.
