The Disability Karate Federation (DKF) is creating a national programme of karate clubs which will train students with disabilities though adaptive training techniques; promoting disability inclusion and improving the self-confidence of disabled people through karate training.
According to the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS), there are eleven million disabled people in the UK. The Olympics and Paralympics have raised awareness of just how physically active disabled people can be.
Following the Olympic Games, 8 out of 10 disabled people were considering playing more sport. Despite this, less than 20% of disabled people are actually taking part in sport.
On Saturday 20th June 2015, we will be taking part in the 100 Kata Challenge to raise money for this great charity. The aim is for us each to perform 100 Kata in less than 4 hours.
