Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

Myself and the Purbeck Workshop will be most grateful if you can donate a little or a lot to help the cause.

About the Charity
The Purbeck Workshop is a registered charity, dedicated to providing creative escapes to those touched by cancer within the Dorset area.

We know only too well that a cancer diagnoses can turn your world upside down - from the endless hospital and medical appointments, treatment and therapy, as well as changes to your working capacity, lifestyle and possibly your mobility. Those people who love and care for you will be also be affected as they join you on your cancer journey.

We can help. We can provide you with the creative space in a relaxing and supportive environment where you can learn new skills and meet people who have been on the same journey as you. We aim to help take your mind off your worries and fears...just for a few hours.

For us, it's not about you mastering new craft skills or even the end product - it's the process of you taking some valuable 'me' time for a few hours, having fun and engaging with your creative self - you may even discover some new hidden talents that you never knew you had!

Our classes are free to attend for cancer patients. So whether you've had a recent or previous diagnoses or you know people currently touched by cancer - our door is open, you're all very welcome to attend.

About my challenge
I plan to run 100 miles along the Thames Path from London to Oxford. It's an annual race organised by Centurion Running.

The cut off time for the event is 28 hours, however I'm hoping to achieve the distance within 24 hours. It's nearly twice as far as the furthest distance I've ever run so it's by no means guaranteed that I'll complete the event at all, never mind within the goal I've set myself. However, I've put in a fair amount of training, I've been averaging over 50 miles per week running, so I have reasons to be positive!

If you can help support this great charity it will help to motivate me a little bit more.

Thanks again
