Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My name is John O'Flaherty and my mother Joan O'Flaherty died 2nd January 2015 of Pneumonia on the Wilson Ward at Wythenshawe Hospital.
My family and I spent 2 weeks by her bedside until her last breath was taken. During this time as a human being, you begin to wish you could do something to ease the pain and suffering. Luckily we have the amazing Doctors and Nurses who dedicate their expertise into ensuring that all patients are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.
Myself and a friend Giles Bond have decided to try and raise money by completing a 100 mile dog walk on the Cheshire Ring Canal System on the 5 June 2015 starting at Brooklands Train Station (M33 7DL) at 08.00 and finishing at Wythenshawe Hospital on the 7th June 2015 at 17.00. This will involve 3 x 10 hour walks covering approximately 33 miles per day with our friendly pooches Oscar and Cruise.
Walkers with or without Pooches are welcome on route for either pleasure or to help raise further money through sponsorship by setting yourself the challenge by completing anything from 1 mile or the full distance. Just email me on 100miledogwalk@gmail.com and I will send you details of the route being completed on each day.
