Ben Rhydding Primary School is a one-form entry primary school in Ilkley West Yorkshire. The Parent Teacher Association raises funds for for provision of facilities or equipment not normally provided by the Local Education Authority. It also aims to develop the links between home and school by organising social events for parents, staff and pupils.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Matthew Twigger, Steve Shaw, Richard Walton and Anthony Elston are cycling 100 miles on the canal towpath from Liverpool to Skipton on 25 July, with support from Mark Gurney

Please support us to raise funds for the Ben Rhydding Primary School Parent Teacher Association, to provide additional equipment for the School in its Centenary year.

Every little helps! Please sponsor us.

Thanks

STOP PRESS..........WE DID IT! Leaving Liverpool about 6.10am, we were greeted by the welcoming committee (much appreciated) in Skipton about 7.30pm.

A few awards from the day....

Hero award - Steve, for getting knee problems after 30 miles but persevering, with the help of painkillers

Nearly went in award - Steve again - fell off the bike and ended up on his back about a foot from the canal

Regular pee break award - Anthony (although the whole team seemed to need to do the same)

Speed award - Matthew, after supping his concoction of energy drinks, setting off into the distance at 17mph

Spoilsport award - Richard, for being the only one not to fall off

Community Service award - Matthew, for riding back a couple of miles to look after a couple of lads with punctures

Smug grin award - Michael, with a very nice pint in his hand, complaining about how hard the support job was

Parking space award - Mark, for always managing to park close to the towpath at the meeting points, and saving unnecessary walking for the riders.

All in all a great day - not necessarily one that we would repeat in the near future. Sponsorship much appreciated - hopefully over £2,000 when all potential donors have been frisked.

A few photos will hopefully be added to the site.
