Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Cadet Flight Sergeant Benjamin Powell 99 (Folkestone) sqn and Cadet Warrant Officer Kynan Fletcher from 1349 (Woking) Sqn are rowing a combined distance of 100 miles in a single day on rowing machines in an effort to raise money for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation!

John Thornton was a Royal Marine who was tragically killed in 2008 during a tour of Iraq. He was once an Air Cadet himself as well as a Qualified Junior Leader. The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundationhas been set up by his parents in his honour to help support young people from a wide range of youth organisations providing them with scholarships and bursaries to support their personal development and the pursuit of their ambitions.

They are doing this as part of the Air Cadet Junior Leaders Course XVI and have partnered with Barclays Bank who have kindly offered to match whatever they raise! So please get involved as every penny raised will be doubled, even the smallest donations count!

A tribute to John, showing his achievements in the ATC and Royal Marines can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmwl7MZ8PPk&ref=nf
