My trek for Alzheimer's Society · 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

In November 2023 I lost my Dad very tragically. My Dad was diagnosed with Vascular dementia along with multiple other conditions following on from a stroke in 2019.

My Dad was my absolute world and best friend and this past year has been the most difficult just trying to deal with his immeasurable loss.

As it is coming up to his birthday this month I want to raise some money and awareness to Alzheimer's Society and the amazing work they do, but also to continue to celebrate what an amazing man my Dad was.

He never let his diagnosis get the better of him and always tried to put a smile on every face in the room. He is my idol and inspiration showing just how strong he was despite everything life threw at him.

World Alzheimer's Month takes place every September and World Alzheimer's Day is on 21 September each year (the day before my Dad's birthday). It's a global opportunity to raise dementia awareness and support people affected by the disease.

Alzheimer’s Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.

They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future. One in 3 born in the UK today will develop dementia.

Any amount you can spare for this amazing charity is greatly appreciated.
