Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am raising money for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has been providing lifelong support to our Forces and their families since 1885. Last year our volunteers and employees helped more than 79,500 people in need, from Second World War veterans to young men and women who have served in more recent conflicts, and their families.

I started this challenge on virginmoneygiving fundraising site on the 1st of August 2020, which unfortunately closed last year, and have raised £3440 so far towards my target of £5000 in total.

So this page is to raise roughly the remaining £1500

The main charity is…

But I also want to raise awareness of these other amazing charities as well

Forces In The Community________(https://www.forces.org.uk/)
The Royal British Legion_________(https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/)
The RAF Benevolent Fund________(https://www.rafbf.org/)

Who? Hello, my name is Be, an RAF veteran, and I am #justsomeguywalkingupanddownstairs.

What? I have been climbing stairs for charity, having already completed 12 peaks around the UK, and the world's 100 tallest buildings.

See the details on the page below.

https://www.facebook.com/100mountainsuk

When? On the 1st of August 2020 I set off on my biggest challenge so far. To ‘virtually’ climb the 100 tallest mountains in 100 countries. This will take me over 2 years!

Why? Well this a real challenge for me, with a spinal injury that ended my RAF career.

This means that now I do struggle a bit with climbing real mountains. I will not let this hold me back though, and with the recent COVID-19 pandemic causing problems for everyone.

I have taken this as an opportunity of lockdowns, to dedicate part of my life to the charities that have helped and supported me directly and do amazing work for others.

As an RAF veteran, inspired by Captain Tom Moore’s 100 laps, the recent 100th anniversary of the RAF, the 100th anniversary of The Royal British Legion, and a desire to give back to the amazing charities that support veterans, serving members, this challenge was born.

Where? I might not have access to the real thing, but I do have a 7-step flight of stairs (my virtual route up the mountains), a good imagination, a stubborn attitude, and an aim.

How? With my trusty walking poles, indoor shoes, tracking watch, and trusty tally counter I’ll be tracking my progress against the total.

This isn’t going to be easy, and I can’t run up them like I used to, I need to have days off. I will be live streaming all the climbing sessions with set targets of flights per day.

If you have any questions about the challenge, want to join me for a live stream session, or want to become a sponsor on the ‘Wall of Fame’ I can be contacted through Facebook, email, Twitter, Instagram, or messenger.
