Story

Please consider sending a few pennies or pounds our way in support of Mind South Lakeland.

What we are doing:
Faith (aka 101 dalmatians and yes, there ARE actually 101 of them on her costume), will be chased for 13.1 miles over the course of the Great North Run by Cruella de Neil. Will her puppies escape unscathed?

When: Sunday 11 September 2016

Who we are supporting:
We are running in support of Mind South Lakeland. Local branches of Mind support over 375,000 people across England and Wales. Their services include supported housing, crisis helplines, drop-in centres, employment and training schemes, counselling and befriending.

Some statistics:
According to the Mental Health Foundation, every year in the UK 70 million workdays are lost due to mental illness, including anxiety, depression and stress related conditions.

In 2013, 6,233 suicides were recorded in the UK for people aged 15 and older. Of these, 78% were male and 22% were female.

South Lakeland Mind's mission:
South Lakeland Mind exists to enhance the quality of life of people experiencing mental and emotional distress and to work generally towards the promotion of better mental health and a greater sense of wellbeing for people in South Lakeland.
