We inspire young people from across the UK to build their brighter futures.

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page. Hopefully that means you are interested in finding out more about what I’m doing and, even better, thinking about supporting me!

In May 2017 I will be running 10 marathons in 10 days to support two amazing charities – the Brathay Trust (https://www.brathay.org.uk/) and Neurocare (http://www.neurocare.org.uk/).

The Brathay Trust work with disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people, helping them and their families into education, training or work. They support over 7,000 young people every year, all across the UK. By focusing on the skills, attitudes and behaviours that young people need to develop their potential, their employability and their resilience, the Brathay Trust empower them to make active choices that will benefit them, and the people around them.

Neurocare raise money to buy lifesaving equipment for use in the Neuro wards of Sheffield's NHS Hospitals. They also fund research projects and specialist training so that people suffering from Neurological conditions can receive the best care available. My wife, Emma, spent a month last year in the Neuro ward at the Hallamshire Hospital and benefitted enormously from the work that this charity are undertaking.

Any donation you make will make such a difference to both of these charities. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Now those of you who know me well will know that I’m a bit obsessed with running. So much so that one of my wedding vows was to get approval from Emma before taking part in any crazy running events. This definitely fits that description, and you will be pleased to know I do have that approval!

But this is completely different to anything I’ve ever done before. It’s a huge challenge, not just physically but mentally. However all the hard work and pain will be well worth it to support these two fantastic charities.

I will be keeping this page regularly updated with my progress and the ups and downs of training for this event. A blog will be starting shortly. You can also follow me on:

Mike
