11 Elm Lowton is raising money for Manchester Mind

100 miles · 15 March 2021

We support young people and adults with mental health issues in Manchester. We're an independent, self-financed charity offering services to those most in need. We promote positive attitudes to mental health to challenge stigma, increase awareness and work for better mental health for all.

Story

As a form we normally organise a yearly 5k race in Pennington flash to raise money for charity. This year we are unable to do that because of corona virus and so instead are going to run, walk or cycle 100 miles as a form. This is the equivalent to a 5k race per person in the form.

We had a form vote on the charity and we know how tough lockdown has been on people’s mental health and so have decided to raise money for Manchester mind.

Manchester Mind is an independent, local charity, which supports over 6,500 children, young people and adults each year. We believe that everyone deserves to be supported in their mental health needs and we have a part to play in that. Our charity values the commitment of our staff and volunteers, who work hard to ensure services are delivered in a way that enables people to feel heard and involved. Donations and help from our fantastic supporters make a real difference, so thank you for being part of our success this year.
