11 House Marathon · 26 April 2020

Scottish Women’s Aid takes the lead in Scotland, working towards the prevention of domestic abuse. Alongside our support for local Women’s Aid services, our national campaigning work and our training, we run Scotland’s 24 Hour Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline helping thousands annually.

Story

As we can't watch the London Marathon on TV this year, a group of 11 households are running it as a socially distant relay. Participants (adults and kids) are making their own running numbers and will run the streets of Edinburgh, past each other's houses so they can be cheered on from their gardens.

The idea originally was just to have fun but we thought we'd take the opportunity to try and see if we could do a bit of fundraising as well. We're all finding lockdown a challenge, but for some it's much more than that. Scottish Women's Aid and the people they work with have never been more in need of support. Thank you.
