Story
In October 2007 I spent some time at Beautiful Gate Care Centre in Lesotho. This remarkable place has taken in over 150 abandoned HIV affected babies since it started in 2001. The aim is to reintroduce the babies into loving families via adoption. It has had great success against all the odds.
To raise much needed money for Beautiful Gate, a team of 8 friends are attempting the Welsh 3000s (the 15 mountains in Wales over 3000 feet) in 48 hours. This will be a tough challenge, particularly as most of the group are not walkers or climbers. All the money raised will go directly towards care and support for the 50 babies currently at Beautiful Gate. Our target is £7000, which is the cost of running the Centre for 1 month. (We have increased this from an initial target of £5000 due to the fantastic initial response.)
[N.B. Donations will be collected through River Church which is a UK registered charity. 100% of funds will go to Beautiful Gate.]
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Beautiful Gate gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
